The RC10 started as the vision of Team Associated’s founder Roger Curtis (RC) and became one of the most iconic RC cars in history.
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the original RC10, we are proud to bring to you the RC10 Classic Jay Halsey Edition kit, a faithful reproduction of Jay’s world championship-winning car that changed the world of RC off road racing forever.
The design and construction of the RC10 is totally unique to electric off-road cars, featuring a rigid alloy monocoque tub with fully adjustable suspension. Included are Associated’s custom coil-over aluminum racing shocks, VariLok differential, one clear body with wing, modular 3-piece clamping wheels, and front pinned tires. Now you can replicate Jay’s worlds-winning paint scheme he ran in the 1985 IFMAR Worlds.
So buckle up and go off-road racing with Jay and the Team.
Full race rear suspension includes durable dogbone and stub axle drivetrain with pinned modular wheels. Independent suspension with coil-over shocks help smooth out the bumps. Low profile gearbox uses VariLok adjustable diff and is protected by an intergrated motor/heat sink. Precision molded, nylon suspension components can be easily custom color dyed. A-Arm/Ball joint design permits static camber, camber rise, caster, ride height and spring rate tuning to suit every type of track.
The smooth undercarriage of the RC10’s aluminum monocoque tub and special gearbox provide maximum ground clearance.

Only eight months after it’s release on July 11, 1985, the legendary RC10 driven by Jammin’ Jay Halsey claimed victory as the first IFMAR 2WD Stock World Champion. It was at this inaugural edition of the IFMAR 1:10 Electric Off-Road World Championships in Del Mar California where history was made.
At the time Jay didn’t know how important the race was and how legendary the buggy he drove would become. Looking back, he now realizes the impact it made in RC history; not only for Team Associated, but for himself as well. Racing for Team Associated allowed him to travel the world attending different races. It’s what helped him get where he is today, working in the television and film industry.

On December 5th, 1984 the All-American designed Team Associated RC10 was introduced to the RC world. Being the first to take home the gold in both the ROAR National and IFMAR 2WD World Championships, the RC10 secured its place as a legend in RC car history. This year (2024) marks the 40th anniversary of the RC10 and we are proud to offer this special “Jammin” Jay Halsey Edition kit. Staying true to the world champion winning buggy, this kit features the same race car technology introduced in the 80s along with the same upgrades Jay ran at the first IFMAR Worlds in Del Mar California. It was this race along with many others that helped launch Jay’s career in the television and film industry.
